Rogue Trucks Product Design :
In 2014 I was tasked with designing a set of downhill skateboarding trucks with an innovative pivot design meant for high speed riding.
I was initially give some rough paper sketches and written description of what the client (Rogue Trucks) wanted out of their design.
I began by taking out my calipers and measuring every aspect of 4-5 different existing truck designs from a variety of different brands. This served as my baseline for a "traditional" design. I then began my sketches in Solidworks and implemented Rogue's new pivot innovation. From these sketches a 3D model was built.
I then stepped into the machine shop with machinist Andres Rivera and began creating the necessary tooling and eventually our first set of trucks. After a few rounds of changes we finalized a design and toolset to create Rogue's new line of Precisions CNC Cut Downhill Trucks.
